THE NEW EPIDEMIC – AUTO-IMMUNITY

Auto-immune disease is something I’ve been treating for over a decade and always strive to keep up to date with the latest science in this area but the recent figures are a concern.

I did a practitioner webinar last week on the latest evidence on the key drivers of auto-immune disorders such as Multiple Sclerosis, autoimmune Thyroid diseases, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Crohn’s, Coeliac disease, and other autoimmune diseases and was surprised to find out that 90% of people with coeliac disease still currently go undiagnosed and a high number of those with other autoimmune diseases are also not being diagnosed due to incorrect testing or not being tested at all (for the relevant condition).

The webinar addressed these gaps in the health system and showed practitioners the most reliable tests (that are scientifically validated) that detect if you are at risk and it also covered the best preventative measures and the most effective clinical treatments and naturopathic medicines for a range of autoimmune diseases. Sadly many people are unaware that they have an underlying condition that is causing tissue damage in their body and their disease can go undetected for many years until symptoms start to emerge, but by then the damage can be irreversible.

Prevention and/or early detection and management are always the best option.
