FOOD INTOLERANCES LINKED TO IBS

In a recent study, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) sufferers had food sensitivity testing to find out if certain foods were the cause of their problems. The study found that 27 % out of of the 51 participants reported an improvement in their IBS symptoms, after they avoided the foods that they were found to be sensitive to.

I’ve found similar results with my patients – where particular foods are the cause for their IBS, and when this isn’t the case, it can be due to a previously undiagnosed bacterial infection, parasitic infestation, untreated anxiety or other causes. If you are suffering from IBS, make an appointment to find out what the ‘cause’ is – as there are a number of non-invasive tests that can identify if you have any food intolerances, infections, parasites or other factors that are responsible for your bowel problems.

Don’t just treat the symptoms – find out the underlying cause so you can resolve the problem once and for all.
