Recent studies to identify the anti-cancer activity of an extract made from mung bean sprouts (MBS), showed the natural medicine had potent anti-cancer mechanisms against human cervical and hepatocarcinoma cancer cells (Hafidh et al., 2012).
Although extracts of plants are highly concentrated compared to consuming the plant itself – including mung beans in the daily diet may still offer health benefits, particularly as mung beans are a good source of plant proteins.
