A woman’s respiratory symptoms fluctuate depending on the stage of her menstrual cycle, new research finds.

The study involving 3,926 women found wheezing was higher on cycle days 10-22, and shortness of breath was highest on days 7-21. And coughing was more common after putative ovulation for asthmatics, obese women and smokers, the Norwegian researchers reported in The American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.
